Led school wide initiative to promote literacy collaborative strategies.  Redesigned book room in order to increase check out and ease of use.  Responsible for budgeting and spending Title 1 and Reading Grant monies for literacy materials. Ordered, cataloged, and shelved books for K-5 book room.  Designed and implemented literacy staff development opportunities school-wide. Chaired literacy committee and organized school-wide literacy night.  Initiated book club for second and third grade students.  Attended monthly Reading Specialists meetings in addition to a variety of other language arts workshops.  Created school-wide reading incentive program.  Taught first grade students in a model classroom setting.  Observed, evaluated and conferenced with teachers as a Literacy Coach.
